New: Approval acc. to EC 2 for HBS-05 Screw Connections Date: 29.02.2012 The new building authority approval no. Z-1.5-189 for HBS-05 Screw Connections according to Eurocode 2 is available in the download area. On 1st July 2012, DIN EN 1992-1-1 will be introduced by building authorities and replace the current valid DIN 1045-1. During transition the new HBS-05 approval was adapted regarding application and design according to EC 2. No technical changes were made in this revision, which means that customers can use the HBS-05 for planning as accustomed and that during transition from DIN 1045-1 to EC 2. both design concepts are available.

New: HBS-05 certified acc. to ISO 15835 Date: 29.02.2012 ISO 15835 „Steels for the reinforcement of concrete - Reinforcement couplers for mechanical splices of bars” specifies performance criteria (ISO 15835-1) and test methods (ISO 15835-2) of reinforcing bar couplers. The international Standard ISO 15835 is a common understanding of minimum requirements for reinforcement couplers independent of special country-specific regulations. In 2010 the ISO Standard was officially introduced by building authority in Lithuania and has been adopted within Lithuanian Standard LST ISO 15835-1, thereby providing the necessary basis to certify the Halfen HBS-05 screw connection acc. to ISO 15835 for the first time. Coupler system HBS-05 is certified for mechanical splices of reinforcing bars of grade B500B of diameters 12, 14, 16, 20, 25, 28 and 32 mm in accordance with the Certificate of Conformity of the Lithuanian certification body SPSC. HBS-05 fulfils performance requirements for couplers of category B (Basic) and category F (Fatigue) acc. to LST ISO 15835-1/ ISO 15835-1 and is thus suitable for applications under static forces and high cycle fatigue stresses. New: HBT type approval according to EC 2 Date: 23.02.2012 A new type approval for HBT Rebend Connections according to Eurocode 2 is available on our website. In the course of replacing DIN 1045-1:2008-08 by Eurocode 2 (DIN EN 1992-1-1) changes in denotations, values and calculation schemes have to be taken into consideration. The DBV bulletin ‘Rebending of reinforcement steel’, which is used as a basis for the design of rebend connections, was adapted according to Eurocode 2. On the basis of these documents a new type approval (S-WUE/110115) for HBT Rebend Connections was created. The new German type approval can be found here.

Nuovo sistema HIT-HP Date: 14.02.2012 Sistema a taglio termico per balconi

Nuovo Centro Commerciale "Le Terrazze" a la Spezia Date: 01.12.2011 Questo nuovo centro commerciale aprirà nel corso della prossima primavera 2012 e si distinguerà per le dimensioni ragguardevoli e per il particolare pregio architettonico. Costituito da tre distinti corpi strutturali affiancati, con le sue terrazze a degradare verso l'entrata principale, ne caratterizza lo stile, oltre che a suggerirne la denominazione. La nuova area si sviluppa complessivamente su oltre 110.000 mq di superficie coperta. Per la realizzazione delle strutture prefabbricate di tutto il complesso sono stati utilizzati circa 23.700 mc. di calcestruzzo e 2.230.000 kg di acciaio con la realizzazione di un numero di manufatti prefabbricati pari a 9.300 circa da parte di RDB Spa. Le strutture in opera sono state realizzate da Carron Spa. HALFEN ha fornito sistemi HBS, HSD e gran parte dei sistemi si sollevamento e fissaggio dei componenti prefabbricati.
